Our Care

Personal (Residential) and Nursing Care
We recognise the decision to move a loved one into residential care can be a difficult one. Although many people are staying in their own homes longer, isolation and loneliness can lead to an increased risk of depression and other mental and physical health problems. Your loved one coming to a care home doesn’t mean that your role as a carer ends.
As a first step in getting to know new residents, we will ask them to complete an ‘About Me’ form which encourages them to share information about their background, wellbeing, preferences, interests and any concerns they may have. Here at Ashton Manor, our personal care teams work closely with families to create bespoke care plans for each resident, so they can continue to live a full and happy life with support along the way. Our philosophy of care values individuality – residents are encouraged to express who they are, continue with pastimes they enjoy, play music they love, try new experiences and entertain family members they value and care for.
At Ashton Manor, our spacious bedroom suites offer comfortable living space where residents can relax in privacy with their own en-suite wet room, television with video calling and call button for assistance. The tea room and lounge areas offer friendly spaces to meet others, make friends and take part in a varied programme of activities and events. Good food is of course also a priority: meals are balanced and nutritious, and favourite recipes can be requested.
Dementia Care
When a loved one is diagnosed with dementia it can be an overwhelming experience. There are more than 820,000 people living with dementia in the UK and every 3 minutes someone else will be diagnosed with this debilitating and distressing condition.
Our home incorporates key features recommended by leading research groups to help with the nature of this progressive condition. Lighting has been set to standards which helps residents with cognitive impairments. Communal spaces, although spacious and airy, have been organised into smaller ‘households’ to encourage residents to socialise in smaller numbers and gain confidence. Gently curved corridors enhance a sense of homeliness whilst themed galleries and interactive spaces provide visual stimulus and improved orientation. If you are looking for residential dementia care for a loved one, you can be assured that at Ashton Manor we have years of experience caring for those affected. We will strive to address your worries or concerns, ensuring a calm and comfortable transition into our home.

Respite (Short Stay) and Convalescent Care
Some residents will be interested in coming for shorter periods, perhaps whilst their family is away or after a hospital stay, or just simply to experience and enjoy the facilities, food and fun on offer at Ashton Manor.
We provide respite care for residents requiring residential, nursing or dementia care.
Activities & Lifestyle
Ashton Manor is a lively and stimulating place to live, a warm and inclusive community to belong to. Residents are free to choose their level of involvement in the home’s activities, whether it’s a trip to the local garden centre or afternoon tea in our very own tea room.
We organise an interesting schedule of social activities, classes and cultural events for those who wish to participate. Transport can be arranged to local towns and places of interest. Family and friends are of course encouraged to visit, and our regular residents’ community meetings are a forum for ideas and suggestions.
