Residents at Ashton Manor Care Home in Lancaster were joined by children, families, friends and colleagues for a Youth Day barbecue in the garden.
Chef Lee cooked lunch on the barbecue, while children, residents and colleagues played games together in the sunshine.
Joanne Tyson, Home Manager at Ashton Manor Care Home, said:
“The children had the best time and our residents really enjoyed joining in with the games. Lee kept everyone well fed with a delicious barbecue, and the sunshine meant we could spend the afternoon outside.
“It was lovely to have children here with residents’ families and friends, as well as the families of our colleagues. Spending time with different generations is good for residents, and it helps children feel comfortable visiting the home and getting to know the people who live here.”
Family and friends are part of everyday life at Ashton Manor. Activities and events throughout the year give residents more ways to spend time with the people close to them and enjoy their home together.
