Residents at Astley View Care Home in Chorley stepped into the Christmas season in style with a sparkling day out to Blackpool – perfectly timed with Strictly Come Dancing’s famous Tower Ballroom weekend.
Instead of taking to the dancefloor, residents enjoyed their own “tour” of Blackpool, starting with a slow drive through the Illuminations. The dazzling lights, nostalgic songs on the minibus made for a lively journey along the promenade.
No Blackpool trip would be complete without a classic fish and chip tea, which went down a treat and rounded off the outing with smiles all round.
Home Manager Christina Durnan said: “There’s something special about Blackpool at this time of year. With the Strictly magic in the air, the Illuminations sparkling and the chance to enjoy the seaside again, our residents had a fantastic day. These experiences really do lift spirits and create lovely memories for everyone.”
The trip is one of many festive activities happening at Astley View this season. The home is also preparing for its Christmas Market on Friday 6th December, where families, friends and the local community are invited to enjoy stalls, crafts and seasonal treats.
