Astley View Launches 2-Week Respite Stays Just in Time for Summer

Astley View Care Home in Chorley is now offering short-term respite care with a minimum stay of just two weeks – providing families with more flexibility ahead of the busy summer season.

This new option is ideal for carers looking to take a well-earned break, go on holiday, or simply recharge, knowing their loved one is receiving exceptional care in a safe, welcoming environment.

The team at Astley View understands that caring for a loved one living with dementia or age-related health needs is a full-time responsibility, and that short-term support can make a significant difference to families.  The new two-week minimum gives families greater choice and opens the door for more short breaks throughout the year.

We understand the need for greater flexibility, especially over the summer months,” said Christina Durnan, Home Manager at Astley View. “With a minimum stay of just two weeks, we hope to give family carers a realistic and accessible way to rest and reset, with confidence that their loved one is in safe hands.

Astley View offers specialist dementia and residential care, 24/7 support from a highly trained team, and a warm, homely atmosphere. Residents enjoy beautifully designed private en-suite rooms, fresh home-cooked meals, and a vibrant activities programme that includes live music, crafts, and animal visits. The home also features a cinema, landscaped gardens, and welcoming shared spaces designed to encourage social connection and comfort.

As well as supporting holiday breaks or post-hospital recovery, respite stays can also offer families the opportunity to trial the home before considering a longer-term move. Many permanent residents at Astley View began their journey with a short stay and quickly came to feel at home.

Bookings are now open for summer respite stays, and early enquiries are encouraged as places are limited.
