Festive Spirit Shines at Ashton Manor with Elf Day and Christmas Fayre

Ashton Manor Care Home in Lancaster has enjoyed a vibrant start to the festive season, with residents, families and colleagues taking part in two seasonal events that brought plenty of colour and community spirit into the home.

Last week, the team hosted Elf Day in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. Residents and colleagues embraced the theme, taking part in an elf sweepstake, word games, “guess the elf name,” and a best-dressed elf parade. Staff arrived in a range of cheerful elf outfits, adding to the fun, and the afternoon ended with peppermint cupcakes and Baileys hot chocolate. The day created a lively atmosphere across the home and set the tone for the week ahead.

On Saturday 6 December, Ashton Manor opened its doors to families and the local community for its annual Christmas Fayre. The event featured handmade crafts, raffle prizes, festive treats, tombolas and stalls for visitors to enjoy. Residents took great pride in welcoming people into the home, and families appreciated the chance to spend time browsing the fayre together and meeting the team.

Home Manager Joanne Tyson said: “Elf Day and the Christmas Fayre really reflected the spirit of our home. The residents and team put so much into the preparations, and it was lovely to see the community join us. These events mean a lot to the people who live here.”

Both events form part of Ashton Manor’s year-round programme of activities, supporting residents to stay active, connected and involved in the lead-up to Christmas and beyond.
