A work by L. S. Lowry was among the highlights when residents from Astley View Care Home visited The Harris in Preston.
Residents spent the afternoon exploring the museum and its collections, taking time to look at paintings, sculptures and installations and discussing the pieces that caught their attention.
The visit also gave residents an opportunity to talk about their favourite works, looking at the different styles, compositions and techniques used by the artists.
Trips out are an important part of the activities programme at Astley View. Our team gets to know residents’ interests and the places they would like to visit, and plans outings alongside the activities and entertainment taking place within the home.
For residents with an interest in art, The Harris offered an afternoon to explore its collections, share opinions and, of course, see the work of one of the North West’s best-known artists.
