Just a few months after joining Astley View Care Home in Chorley, Head Chef Rowan Simmons has been recognised with Evermore Care Homes’ Step Up, Stand Out award.
The award celebrates colleagues who go above and beyond in their role and make a positive contribution to the people around them.
Rowan joined Astley View in March and quickly took on the challenge of building the home’s kitchen team. Alongside leading the day-to-day running of the kitchen, he has supported recruitment, helped welcome new team members and is always willing to step in wherever support is needed.
His practical approach and steady leadership have been recognised by colleagues across the home. Whether helping the team through a busy service or supporting wider day-to-day operations, Rowan has earned the respect of those around him and has become an important part of life at Astley View.
At Evermore Care Homes, great food is an important part of creating a home where people can enjoy each day. Rowan and his team work hard to provide residents with nutritious, freshly prepared meals that reflect individual preferences and bring people together at mealtimes.
To thank Rowan for everything he has contributed since joining the home, he has been awarded a weekend break for two as part of his Step Up, Stand Out award.
Congratulations, Rowan, on a well-deserved recognition.
