“Absolute Gems” – Celebrating the Team at Ashton Manor Care Home in Lancaster

At Evermore Care, we recognise our colleagues each month through our Step Up, Stand Out awards – a simple way of acknowledging the people who make a difference every day.

This month, we are celebrating the team at Ashton Manor Care Home, where colleagues support older people through residential and dementia care in a calm and supportive environment.

Home Manager Joanne Tyson described this month’s winners as “absolute gems.”

“They are absolute gems. It’s the way they support residents, look out for each other, and take pride in what they do every day. These awards are about recognising those small but important things that make people feel comfortable, respected and cared for.”

The awards recognise the everyday moments that shape life in the home – helping someone to feel settled, offering reassurance at the right time, and supporting each other as a team.

This month, five colleagues have been recognised for the way they approach their roles at Ashton Manor Care Home in Lancaster.

Debbie, the home’s housekeeper, has been recognised for the way she helps residents to settle and feel at ease, offering calm reassurance and stepping in wherever she is needed. She also supports colleagues across the home, always willing to help.

Dorne, Night Carer, consistently goes above and beyond. She is caring and compassionate, always putting residents first while supporting her colleagues with kindness and teamwork. Nothing is ever too much trouble.

Kayleigh, Receptionist, brings a vibrant and positive energy to the home, creating a warm and welcoming environment for residents, families and colleagues. She is often described by residents as “an absolute gem.”

Laurel, Senior Carer, has made a strong impact through her calm and thoughtful leadership. She listens, supports her team and maintains high standards, showing confidence and commitment in her role.

Smitha, Carer, is always positive, approachable and supportive. She plays an important role in guiding new colleagues and helping to create a welcoming team environment, while consistently putting residents first.

At Evermore Care, our homes are designed to provide consistent, person-centred care, where residents feel comfortable, supported and part of a community.
