There was cause for celebration at Ashton Manor Care Home in Lancaster this weekend as the home won a regional Great British Care Award, recognising its innovative and person-centred approach to care planning.
The home’s Deputy Manager, Jamie Pepper, was named Care Assessor of the Year at the North West finals, praised for transforming how residents’ needs, interests and wellbeing are understood and supported.
Jamie has led a step change in how care plans are developed, ensuring each person’s care is truly personal from the start. Her holistic approach has strengthened relationships with families and inspired colleagues to look beyond tasks and routines to see the whole person.

Home Manager Joanne Tyson said:
“Jamie’s award is so well deserved. Her knowledge, compassion and positivity have transformed how we plan and deliver care – and the difference is felt every day by residents, families and our team.”
The Great British Care Awards celebrate excellence across the social care sector, recognising individuals and organisations that demonstrate innovation, compassion and outstanding practice.
