What a lovely weekend we’ve just had here at Astley View, a leading residential and dementia care home in Chorley.

Saturday kicked things off in style with a relaxed yet engaging social gathering in our community cafe. It was fantastic to see our residents enjoying classic games like dominoes and tackling jigsaws together, sharing stories and friendly competition. Later in the day, we transformed our cinema space for a trip back in time, settling down to enjoy a classic western film.

Sunday was extra special as we celebrated the wonderful mothers in our community for Mother’s Day (UK Mother’s Day fell on March 30th this year!). The morning began with a well-deserved dose of pampering, allowing our residents to relax and feel truly special. Creativity blossomed during a vibrant flower arranging workshop. It was wonderful to see everyone getting hands-on, creating beautiful arrangements to brighten up their rooms or share with loved ones, promoting meaningful activities for residents.

The fun didn’t stop there! The afternoon brought more engagement with a lively general knowledge quiz that got brains ticking, followed by a lovely sing-along session that filled Astley View with music and joy.

Adding to the fantastic atmosphere throughout the weekend were the many visits from residents’ families and friends.

It was a couple of days packed with fun, entertainment, and community spirit – just the way we like it at Astley View, a trusted residential dementia care home!
