At Astley View Residential Care Home, we believe every day should be filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful moments. We provide high-quality care and support for those in need of dementia care, respite care, or long-term residential care. Most importantly, our welcoming environment ensures that everyone feels at home.

This week, we have truly made the most of the sunshine with activities designed to bring joy and connection. Our Knit and Natter sessions have been a wonderful way for residents to share stories, enjoy good company, and create something special.

We have embraced nature through dried flower arranging. Residents carefully crafted colourful, handmade displays, bringing the beauty of spring indoors. Meanwhile, for those who enjoy creative relaxation, our Mindful Mondays crafts provided a peaceful space to unwind and express themselves.

Beyond our activities in the home, a highlight of the week was our visit to Cedar Farm. Residents explored the beautiful scenery and enjoyed browsing the gift shop. Outings like these are essential, as they help create new memories and bring a refreshing change of scenery.

At Astley View, we take great pride in our person-centred care. Whether residents stay for short-term respite care or a long-term stay, we ensure they feel valued, supported, and part of our community.

If you’re looking for a compassionate care home, we would love to welcome you. Get in touch today to learn more about our specialist dementia care, respite services, and residential care.

Astley View Care Home in Chorley made this year’s Valentine’s Day extra special. The residential and dementia care home hosted a delightful celebration, starting with chocolate-covered strawberries, followed by a beautifully prepared Valentine’s lunch and dinner. Some residents and their loved ones enjoyed their meals in the home’s private dining room, creating an family setting perfect for a special lunch.

A local singer entertained the residents with classic love songs, encouraging singalongs and even a bit of dancing. The care home was adorned with heart-themed decorations, flowers, and vibrant colours, setting the perfect scene for the occasion. Residents also had the opportunity to take part in Valentine’s Day-themed crafts, creating cards to share or just for fun.

“The day was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate love in all its forms,” said Christina Durnan, Registered Manager at Astley View. “Seeing the joy on our residents’ faces and the happiness shared with their families made it truly special. We always strive to create meaningful experiences, and this was certainly one to remember.”

At Astley View Care Home, providing high quality residential care, dementia care, and respite care is at the heart of what we do. Special days like Valentine’s Day are just one of the many ways we bring joy and a sense of community to our residents’ daily lives.
