Ashton Manor offers the highest quality residential, nursing and dementia care and this Christmas, we have introduced a four week ‘Winter Wellbeing’ respite package for families worried about being able to care for their elderly relatives over Christmas in these unpredictable times.
Our respite care service will run from Monday 7th December until Sunday 3rd of January and has been designed to give families peace of mind that their elderly relatives can be well cared for over the festive season. For many families, the shadow of COVID has raised the question of how to cope if family circumstances suddenly change this year and carers are forced to self-isolate. Larger families, with more than one elderly household to care for, may also be faced with tough decisions given restrictions around social interaction.
By helping families plan ahead, our respite care package removes much of the stress that surrounds the season for people caring for relatives. Catering both for individual residents, as well as couples, the package has been carefully designed to ensure that it’s fully COVID compliant, whilst retaining a sense of celebration for respite residents over the festive season.
‘Winter Wellbeing’ residents will move into the home by 7th December, meaning that an initial 14 days’ spent quarantine – with a select group of carers – will be completed in time to take part in the warm, friendly festivities planned from Christmas Eve onwards. Our team at Ashton Manor are passionate about making sure the quarantine period is a pleasant experience, with one-to one-activities planned, and spacious, light filled, beautifully decorated rooms to enjoy.
Whilst celebrating Christmas with residents will be the front-of-house focus, in the background, Ashton Manor boasts unobtrusive, innovative care technology. Our pristine home runs like clockwork thanks to electronic security, assistive technology, the latest infection control procedures and laundry systems, high specification assisted en-suite bathrooms, and, of course, Wi-Fi throughout.
Christmas plans include decorating the home, festive mince pie making and present wrapping sessions, accompanied by Sherry or Baileys for those who fancy raising a glass. Cheery carol services will be led by the team and streamed in by video call.
Internet access and video calling help our residents to stay in contact with their loved ones remotely over the Christmas season. Personal connection is key for us, from finding ways to keep in touch with family, to everyday friendly chats with our team.
